A couple of days after Marla Gibbs' impressive guest appearance being an addled grandmother, another sitcom alum - Murphy Brown's Joe Regalbuto - shipped a devastating dramatic turn like a father who fatally shot his still-at-home thirtysomething boy for fear he may turn to be considered a murderer. Before his heart-wrenching confession, his character feigned grief with what Det. Lydia Adams (Regina King) known as "an Academy Award-winning performance." He isn't qualified to have an Oscar, but Regalbuto could have an Emmy. Meanwhile, Michael Cudlitz - late from the original Beverly Hillsides, 90210 - is constantly on the impress together with his nuanced act as gay patrol cop John Cooper. His moments having a suicidal teen within this week's episode were particularly poignant. Coop attempted to reassure him that "It will get better." That certainly is true for Southland, every single week. Exactly what do you think about last night's Southland? Sign up for TV Guide Magazine now!
